The Climbing Pig Stair-A-Thon. It is an athletic and cultural adventure that celebrates Cincinnati neighborhoods, their local watering holes, and most importantly, the 16,000 public steps traversing the seven hills of our Queen City.
The Climbing Pig is a challenge to be completed within a single 24 hour period. Beginning at historic Findlay Market and traversing the multitude of hidden Cincinnati public stairwells over a 13 mile route, culminating on the north bank of the Ohio River.
There are no specific dates or times assigned to this challenge. While you can complete your pilgrimage solo, the Climbing Pig Stairathon is intended as a social event. The point of the challenge is not to post a fast time for completion, but to enjoy the forgotten nooks and crannies of the Queen City. Along your journey you are encouraged to stumble into local watering holes, chase Lazarus Lizards, and to stoically stare out over vistas like you were a frontiersmen of the wild and rugged Northwest territories.
After all, it ain't the getting there, it's the getting there.
